Horseshoe was painted in exterior semi-gloss acrylic latex paints. The detail was done in airbrush and acrylics. The laces are made of fire hose, painted and laced up the horses back. The eyelets are made from plumbing fixtures. The white rubber section of the shoe is made from fiberglass vinyl adhered with fiberglass bondo and coated with vinyl spackling. The gum at the bottom of the shoe is made from yellow foam covered in fiberglass mat and coated with vinyl spackling for texture. The horse was clear coated with polyurethane.

The Gymnastics Training Center is pleased to have been a part of this community project to raise money for local charities.

"Horseshoe" is proudly displayed at our entrance as you enter our gym.

Horses on Parade Stampedes Through Rochester

Rochester, New York is following in the hoof prints of international cities like New York, Chicago, Toronto, New Orleans, and Zurich, with our own animal masquerade: High Falls Horses On Parade.

A collaborative effort of High Falls Brewing Company and Dixon Schwable Advertising, High Falls Horses on Parade also involves many enthusiastic corporate citizens, talented artists, and dedicated community organizations.

With more than 150 decorated fiberglass horses placed throughout the area, the program promises to be Rochester's highest-profile charitable event ever. The horses, like the parading cows, moose and fish before them, will attract visitors and tourism dollars. And it's only the beginning of High Falls Brewing Company's renewed community dedication.

With the proceeds from the horse sponsorships, High Falls will donate a total of more than $130,000 to six local charities. After the parade, every not-for-profit organization in the Rochester area can benefit from funds raised at our post-parade auction.

The year 2001 will be a busy one: artists design and decorate their horses from January through March; photography, brochures and maps are coordinated in April; the horses graze around Rochester from May to September; and we'll close with a wrap-up party and auction in September.

Thanks to the Rochester community for helping to make Horses on Parade a success! We look forward to an exciting year of animal magic.
